Below is the original Press Release dated November, 2003:

Celebrating the uniqueness and diversity of Oklahoma City’s Artistic Community,
The 1st Annual Artists’ Weekend is a festival of art for all medium of expression!

Treat your taste buds to our fine cuisine and wine, feast your eyes on gorgeous and
provocative works of art, soothe your soul with musical melodies, and let the sensuous sway
of exotic bellydancers transport you to the ancient city of Troy, where you will experience a
timeless tale of theatre, richly rendered for your hearts and minds.

Some of the finest artists in Oklahoma City have come together to bring you this bounteous
weekend of culture, fun and philanthropy held in beautiful downtown OKC at Stage Center,
400 W. Sheridan, November 6th, 7th & 8th.

Our Weekend is your weekend, our art is yours, come celebrate with us in the heart of our
fair city!

The event begins each evening at 6:30 pm with music, dancing, wine & gourmet cuisine
provided by some of the finest local area chefs including Chef Kurt Fleischfresser of The
Coach House, Chef Ryan Parrott of The Deep Fork Grill, Chef Robert Black of The Museum
Cafe and Chefs Trey Ferguson and Ian Wagner of Restaurant Row Catering.  In addition,
Vintage Wine & Spirits will host a wine tasting specially paired with each Chef's cuisine
beginning at 6:30pm.

At 7:30, there will be a performance of The Trojan Women, the Greek classic by Euripides,
translated by Kenneth Cavander.  The play centers on the struggle by the women of Troy to
overcome the terrors of war and their own shattered realities.  It is a moving and powerful
piece of theatre cast with some of the finest local theatrical artists OKC has to offer including
Kathryn McGill, Artistic Director of Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, who will play the role of
Hecuba.  We end each evening with more wonderful food, music, and artwork.

On Saturday evening, there will be a live charity auction, as well as a silent auction all three
nights benefiting the two charities:  The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of
Central Oklahoma and The Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park Young Directors' Series
(which will provide a scholarship to an aspiring young director in our community to direct a
fully funded show of their choice under the wing of an established theatre company).

Throughout all three nights, there will be artwork on display by some of OKC's most talented
visual artists including John Brandenburg, Gloria Abella de Duncan, de Shan, Danny Gordon,
Susan Cooper, Elizabeth Lowry, Shaun SerVoss, Frank Cissne, Michael Reust, Michelle
Mikesell, Shona Willis, Shea Alexander, JoLynne Lair, Jennifer Thomas, Chris Kinser, Claudia
Avila, Chris Small and Melissa Nelson.

Musical artists include "Redbud Revival", a local band with a contemporary rock sound (before
the play), "Bridgewater Band", a soulful band with a folk sound (after the play), and Joe
Stansberry, a solo artist with smooth vocal and musical stylings (pre-show music).  We will
also have a special treat from the Aalim Bellydance Academy; "Desert Fire" will perform each
night before the play begins.
